Ambassador Allison Fuisz

ABOUT AMBASSADOR ALLISON FUISZ:

Allison does not view herself as a teacher, but more so a lead-learner with a passion to learn, create, and have fun. She is currently an intermediate teacher with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board in a school filled with a diverse group of students. A great deal of her time is spent running inclusive clubs for students including a games room (traditional board games only), a Coding Club, a Lego Robotics League, Social Justice Group, and Mindful Monday Group.  She tends to have boundless amounts of energy, or so she is told by her Grade 7 immersion students. Allison has completed her Masters in Professional Leadership with a focus on Student Voice. She continually comes to school with a smile on her face, and truly adores her profession for all that it offers.

CLASSROOM MOTTO:

“The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday” -Author Unknown AND “on ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur” (English Translation: “You can only see clearly with the heart.”) from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry

PROUDEST MOMENT OF YOUR EDUCATION CAREER:

With honesty, I cannot pinpoint just one. From the many times that a student smiles because they have taught me something to attending a variety game of a former student because I was invited, there is no one thing. I walk into our community of learning every day with a fresh perspective ready to take on whatever the day brings. If it came down to the proudest moment perhaps then I would have to say the fact that I never come to school thinking it is work; I come to school every day to learn and have fun and hopefully provide a pathway for a student or two to find their passion and joy in learning.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A BUNCEE AMBASSADOR?

Though I am still new to this amazing program or media production opportunity, I see its value for a multitude of reasons. Such reasons include the dedication of the team behind Buncee and their willingness to listen to educators and students alike. As a Buncee Ambassador, I envision giving lunch & learn opportunities for my colleagues and doing GHO with those who are too far away. I would bring my students to the forefront of sharing their learning for all to see and to continually communicate with Buncee to make sure that I am not missing what it is they have done to better their already great program. I truly believe that Buncee is creating an incredible platform for students to work from and to share their learning in fun, exciting ways.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BUNCEES?

Co-Created WITH students for school advertising ~
This kiddo used a multimodal approach (google docs, created friend images, etc.) ~
Assignment for la grammaire! So cute, fun, and connected to class community conversations ~
