ABOUT AMBASSADOR AMY STORER:

Amy recently graduated from Lamar University with a Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership. She is excited about starting her new role this year in Montgomery ISD as an Instructional Coach for the 5th grade campus. She has taught grades 1-4, and she is also a technology integration mentor for her district. She holds two Teacher of the Year distinctions and, in 2015, was a top 4 finalist in HEB’s Excellence in Education in the “Leadership Elementary” category. She is an educator that  encourages and motivates others to reach far beyond the classroom walls to make the learning more meaningful and inspiring. She has a true passion for working with other educators and students to encourage them to make and foster global connections.

She and her husband have been together for almost 20 years!  They have two furry babies, and their names are Bailey and Zoe.  She is also the proud aunt of Nancy, Finn, and Brandon!

CLASSROOM MOTTO:

“Love First, Teach Second.”

PROUDEST MOMENT OF YOUR EDUCATION CAREER:

The proudest moment of my career was when I was named as a top 4 finalist in HEB’s Excellence in Education during the year 2015.  I was surprised one Monday morning in class by my family, my local HEB, local news affiliates and others.  It was something that I will never forget!

“H-E-B launched the Excellence in Education Awards program in cooperation with TASA in 2002 as a positive way to support public education in Texas. The awards celebrate public school professionals whose leadership and dedication inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.  With more than $800,000 in cash prizes awarded annually to deserving teachers, principals, school districts and early childhood facilities, the H‑E‑B Excellence in Education Awards is the largest monetary recognition program for educators in Texas and one of the largest in the nation.”

We spent a wonderful weekend in Austin, and the speaker was Sir Ken Robinson!  Talk about a bucket list moment!  I teach for and because of my mother, who has now been in Heaven for almost 10 years.  I share this experience and honor with her!

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A BUNCEE AMBASSADOR?

I am such a huge fan of Buncee!  I have been using it since this past summer when we did a book study on The Book of What If.  I shared my thoughts on that particular book using Buncee and then posting my creation on social media.  It is such a great design tool!  As an instructional coach and a presenter, I am now using it to share presentation information.  I have also been using it to give shout-outs for presenters in our upcoming Global Maker Day.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BUNCEES?
