My name is Nicholas Clayton, and I am an oversharer. I have been teaching for 6 years and I am currently an SDC teacher 4-6th grade at Puesta Del Sol Elementary School in Victorville, CA. I am a tech coach at my school as well who holds weekly share/collaboration events called ‘Tech Liberator’ via my site and Google Classroom. I live for Twitter, my PLN, and global learning. I also live for my wife of 10 years Amanda, my 6 year old daughter Mia (yes she started a charity) and my 4 year old son Griffin.
During 2016, I presented at two national education conferences and am presenting at two of the nation’s largest conferences in the coming months (CUE and ISTE). I have connected with several education companies, becoming an ambassador for Buncee, ClassDojo, GoNoodle and Front Row. I teach teachers on the amazing educational tools available to them in the edtech world. I have brought robotics electives and virtual reality electives to the students, introducing them to electrical, mechanical and computer engineering through computer coding lessons through daily computer programming curriculum, littlebits/Sphero/raspberry Pi/Arduino and Google Cardboard products.
I have run virtual field trips throughout Southeast Asia, USA, and Central America, learning about science, geography, social studies, mathematics and technology. These have included virtual field trips with experts on robotics and computer engineering, allowing for discussions in careers in future ready jobs. Finally, I am bringing virtual reality, robotics club, online publishing/creation and computer hardware/coding programs projects to my school for the 2016-2017 school year.
