AMBASSADOR STACY HUGHES

ABOUT AMBASSADOR STACY HUGHES:

My career in teaching began in 1990. For the majority of my teaching career, I have been honored to teach 7th and 8th Grade English and Reading. My current role is serving as a Middle School Reading Specialist. I coach teachers and students in addition to presenting at workshops that focus on literacy and integrating technology. I was honored to present at the Tennessee Educational Technology Conference and share Buncee during my presentation.

CLASSROOM MOTTO:

“Readers are leaders!”

PROUDEST MOMENT OF YOUR EDUCATION CAREER:

My goal has always been to instill a love of our language and create lifelong readers and writers.  Without a doubt, my proudest moments in my career occur when I encounter former students and their first instinct upon seeing me is to say, “Ms. Hughes!  I read!”  A few years ago, a student even said, “Ms. Hughes, how did you get us to love grammar as much as you do?”  Those are proud moments…when your students share your passion for what you teach.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A BUNCEE AMBASSADOR?

I love being a part of something special and Buncee is “something special.” I love being a Buncee Ambassador because Buncee is an awesome tool for both teachers and students.  Buncee offers a way for people like me, who lack the gift of creativity, to produce designs that engage and spark interest.  I love being surprised by my own creations, and I love watching my students amaze themselves by what they are able to create.  My colleagues are beginning to experiment with it as well, and I’m already receiving messages from them saying, “I love Buncee!”

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BUNCEES?

This was my first Buncee an embedded video, twirly arrows, lots of stickers, and an animated Buncee character doing a jig!

This one was my first attempt at a Buncee hyperdoc.  I created it around one of Roald Dahl’s best little short stories, and I really like the way it turned out.

I borrowed ideas from the Buncee Gallery to create this Buncee announcement.  Love the animations in it!
