The following is a guest post by stellar achiever and majorly inspiring 9-year-old, Curran! Buncee is proud to share his writing with you. To learn more about Curran, read his bio at the bottom of this post.
As a fourth grader and a student Buncee ambassador, I want to welcome everyone back to school this year. I’m excited to share DigCitKids, digital citizenship for kids by kids, with you all.
Here’s my DigCitKids Back-to-School Tips:
I hope that your students will participate in the monthly challenges by creating amazing Buncees that we can share and highlight using #DigCitKids.
The August/September challenge is: how do you build community?
Let your students tell the story and create Buncees that celebrate community.
Curran is also a TEDxYouth speaker and his talk has been used as part of professional development for educators as a way to encourage student voice, student choice and students as leaders.
Curran started blogging at home as a way to complete traditional assignments in school. Unfortunately, he only has digital access at home and this has inspired him to advocate for connected learning opportunities in all classrooms around the world. His wish is for digital access for all students everywhere and DigCitKids is a way to amplify student voice in K-12 classrooms.
