Our latest collaboration with Skype In The Classroom, the #SkypeBunceeBuddies Oceans Day project, celebrates Ocean Conservation and World Oceans Day (June 8th). To inspire your classrooms’ ocean creations and your future scientists, world-renowned professional surfer, and conservationist, Will Skudin, along with ocean conservationist, Jen Hanono, and marine researcher, Colin Wirth, have created Buncees to share their experiences conserving our oceans!
Scroll through the Buncees below with your students as an introduction to your Oceans Day lesson. Inspire your students to be the change for the United Nation’s Goal 14: Life Below Water! A huge thanks to both Will, Jen, and Colin for sharing their passion for our blue planet.
About the creators:
Will Skudin and Jen Hanono are natives of Long Beach, NY. Will Skudin a professional big wave surfer, and Jen Hanono is the Director of Skudin SUP. Will and Jen have always been lifelong lovers of Planet Earth. Recently, they were invited to visit Bermuda to learn from world leaders on how to protect our oceans and were lucky enough to bring back an amazing video to teach kids around the world on what they can do.
Colin Wirth hails from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. As a student at Stony Brook University’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Colin is a perfect example of a student pursuing his passion and making a difference! Colin is currently researching marine acoustics to see how it impacts life below water. Watch his video for ways you can make a difference.
